Sony just announced its PlayStation VR headsets are scheduled to launch this October and retail for $399 USD. At the time of the release, and stretching to the end of the year, PlayStation expects to have 50 VR games available, courtesy of 230 developers who are building content for the system. Playroom VR from the company’s Japan studio will also be made available as a free download from PlayStation Store for all PS VR owners at launch. The package will include six games. The consumer version of PlayStation VR features a main 5.7-inch OLED screen, capable of displaying games at up to 120 frames per second and has a resolution of 1920 x RGB x 1080. Users can in turn play games with PlayStation’s Move or DualShock 4 controllers, all while wearing the white and black VR headset. The headset has nine LEDs for 360-degree head tracking.
