Wyclef Jeanelle Jean was born on October 17 1969. He originally his music career in a group he had formed in the 1980s. He later signed for Columbia records and Ruffhouse records in 1993 and they changed their group name to Fugees meaning refugees. Their debut album, Blunted Reality was released 1994. In 2010 Jean tried to run for the President of Haiti but issues about his passport and citizenship couldn’t allow him to run.
