Lil Wayne Birdman lawsuit

Lil Wayne is not playing games with his impending release from Cash Money Records.

While it was originally reported that Weezy was hitting up his label head of over 20 years for $8 million, it turns out he wants a lot more. According to TMZ, Wayne is now suing Birdman for a whopping $51 million.

Wayne is still citing the delay of his Tha Carter V album as the basis of his claim, the rapper is arguing that Birdman did not honor their contract, resulting in the loss of tens of millions of dollars. But that is not all Weezy is out for – he’s is also looking to be named joint copyright owner of all Young Money recordings, including that of Nicki Minaj and Drake.

A source also told TMZ that the release of Tha Carter V is directly dependent upon his payment in the lawsuit; if Wayne is paid, the album can drop. The rapper was reportedly not given the $8 million advance for the album, nor an additional $2 million upon the album’s completion.
