The MTV Africa Music Awards 2014 is returning to the global stage with some comedic relief from host Marlon Wayans, THR reports.

The 41-year-old funnyman will be the master of ceremonies after the show’s three-year hiatus. Since its inception in 2008, the last MAMAs was held in Lagos, Nigeria back in 2010, hosted by Eve. This year, the show will emanate from the coastal resort of Durban, South Africa.

“Holding it in [Durban] South Africa as a pan-African awards show, celebrating African talent was critical for us as part of our mission in Africa,” said Alex Okosi, SVP and General Manager of VIMN in Africa. “It took longer than we had anticipated to get the partnerships in place, but we are very happy to have secured them and intend to keep moving the ceremony to celebrate Pan-African talent.”

Award categories will include Best Collaboration, Best Female Artist, Video of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Male Artist while Miguel, French Montana, Trey Songz, and popular African artists will rock the mic. Tune into the worldwide affair on June 7.
