What do Tyga and Vanilla Ice have in common?

Well, a lot.

The two rappers have found themselves immersed in a world of controversy surrounding the place they call home. The “Make It Nasty” rapper made headlines last week when a vintage video of him as a goofy 18-year-old aspiring rapper, then known as T-Raw, surfaced on the ‘net.

The video showed Tyga in a previously unaired MTV reality show titled Bustas, which featured the YMCMB rapper stating he was from the Valley and his parents were the owners of luxury vehicles like a Range Rover and a CLS Mercedes.

All would have been well, except the fact that Tyga has always claimed he was from the more dangerous California neighborhood of Compton.

Tyga has since brushed off the rumors that he’s been lying about his hometown to gain more street credibility.

The “Rack City” rapper is still claiming that he’s from Compton and that he only lived a short time in the Valley.

GlobalGrind decided to round up other artists who found themselves wrapped up in little white lies during their careers.

From Rick Ross’ infamous corrections officer debacle, to R&B singer Brandy pretending that she was married to save her image, GlobalGrind has it all.
