The second overall pick during 2007 NFL Draft, Calvin Johnson Jr., wide receiver for the Detroit Lions, is commonly known by the nickname “Megatron” among fellow players, fans, and sportscasters. Astonished not just by his physique, but his uncanny speed, strength, hand-eye coordination, and so on, ESPN named Johnson as “Super Freak” during the 2007 NFL Combine. His former team mate Roy Williams labeled Johnson with something more sinister, Megatron, as in the leader of Decepticons, and the name stuck. Now with pre-production underway for Transformers 4, Nike is again adding to it cadre of Transformers related designs with the Air Max Flyposite NRG “Megatron”. Featuring a full-length Nike Max Air sole unit in Wolf Grey colorway plus an appointment of Foamposite upper in gradient of silver, blue, and purple. A swath of black nubuck completes the design. On the heel tab you’ll find Johnson’s jersey number 81 while the name “Megatron” in on the sockliner inside. To complete its association with Johnson, Nike also added a Decepticons’ logo on the tongue tag. Retails for around US$ 190, this special edition will be available as part of Black Friday releases on November 23rd.
