UPDATE: December will be a little warmer with the second Big Boi solo album in three years.

Montrality recently caught up with Outkast alum Big Boi while performing in Canada. During this interview, the Atlanta legend discussed his upcoming sophomore solo album titled Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors and its accompanying coffee table book. He explained that the album, which is rumored to feature the likes of Little Dragon and Modest Mouse, carries on the legacy of the Dungeon Family and features some the best music he’s recorded in his career.

“The overall theme [of Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors] is making the best tunes on the planet,” he said. “I’ve always been dedicated to making this Jedi rap shit, we are Jedis, this is elite street Dungeon Family action, and we just take pride in what we do. We love our fans, we’ve been here for a minute, we gonna be here and we ain’t going nowhere. You feel me? That’s how we do it…I’ve [also] got a coffee table book around the time the album comes out.”

Big Boi also spoke about his relationship with Outkast partner Andre 3000. He said that he maintains frequent contact with Three Stacks, recalling that two most spoke on the phone following the wrapping of the principle shooting of Dre’s upcoming Jimi Hendrix biopic.

“The last time I spoke to Dre was a couple of weeks ago, he was out there finishing up the Jimi Hendrix movie,” he said. “I think he just wrapped the movie up last week or whatever. [We were] just chopping up, just homeboy to homeboy. That’s my brother, it ain’t nothing but all loving.
