This summer is just flying by, isn’t it? It seems like just yesterday Rick Ross was announcing the title of his next album, God Forgives, I Don’t, and preparing to do promo for it. And now, the album is less than three weeks away.

Earlier this week, we got our first look at exactly what to expect from GFID when the official tracklist for the album hit the Internet. And while a solid tracklist isn’t always indicative of how good (or bad!) an album will be, we were excited to see a few things on it. It’s really got us looking forward to what Rick Ross has in store for us on his new album.

We think you should be pumped for GFID, too. So, we went ahead and put together a list of the 5 Reasons You Should Be Excited After Seeing The Tracklist For Rick Ross’ New Album, God Forgives, I Don’t. Start counting down the days ’til it drops now.

Reason #1: Jay-Z and Dr. Dre both make guest appearances on the song, “3 Kings.”
Do we really need to explain this one? Even if the song completely sucks—which we doubt—it’s always monumental when you bring three artists as big as Ross, Jay, and Dre together and put them on the same track. It’ll be hard for them to live up to the hype that they caused when the tracklist first dropped. But, it’ll sure be fun to hear them try.

Reason #2: Andre 3000 makes a guest appearance on the song, “Sixteen.”
Dre doesn’t typically hop on songs with just anybody. Although he’s also featured on Frank Ocean’s debut, Channel Orange, right now, he tends to stay out of the limelight and limit the amount of guest verses he drops every year. So, it really says something that he thought highly enough of Ross at this point in his career to get on his new album. It’ll be interesting to hear these two on a track together.

Reason #3: Ross has decided to continue the “Maybach Music” series of songs.
We’re a little bit disappointed to see that Ne-Yo is the only artist featured on “Maybach Music IV” (both “Maybach Music 2” and “Maybach Music III” were posse cuts). But, at the same time, we’re glad that Ross hasn’t discontinued the “Maybach Music” songs. And, it actually makes us even more excited to see what he has in store for us on it since he decided to go at it alone this time.

Reason #4: There aren’t two dozen guest appearances by Maybach Music Group artists.
Don’t get it twisted: We love us some Meek Mill, Wale, Stalley, and Omarion. But, the MMG album, Self Made, Vol. 2, literally just dropped. So, we’re glad that Ross decided to limit the number of appearances made by MMG artists on his solo project. That’s the way it should be.

Reason #5: The song titles that Ross has chosen are, if nothing else, intriguing.
Typically, rappers aren’t super creative when it comes to picking out song titles. Most of the time, we can tell what a song is about simply by reading the song title. Not so here. With song titles like “Pirates,” “Diced Pineapples,” and even “Ashamed,” Ross already has us wondering what some of these songs are about. Other artists, take note: This is how you get our attention with your tracklist. Well done, Rozay.
